The County will ensure that County Jail Annex, located at 12680 Highway 11W, Lenoir City, TN, which is currently under construction, when finished, contains the following accessible elements: Elevator: There is no elevator linking the upper and lower levels of this new facility. The Department’s title II regulation specifically provides that the elevator exemptions contained in the Standards § 4.1.3(5) do not apply to title ii facilities. 28 C.F.R. § 35.151(c). No later than the completion of the new Jail Annex, provide an elevator shaft in the facility. No later than one year from the completion of the facility, provide an elevator to ensure an interior accessible route between both floors of the facility and ensure that all elevator elements comply with the Standards.
